With 130 miles of coastline in New Jersey, Assemblyman Karabinchak wants the state to explore how waves and tides could reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. During an Assembly voting session, legislators advanced Assemblyman Karabinchak’s bill that would require the state to study ocean energy potential and set goals in wave and tidal energy generation.
Governor Phil Murphy signed A573, which makes several changes to the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) Act designed to speed up the construction permitting process. The bill codifies a three-day construction inspection turnaround from the date of the requested inspection and allows developers to contract with private on-site inspection agencies if local construction officials cannot complete the inspection within three days of the requested date.
In honor of National Adoption Day, Middlesex County hosted its 15th annual National Adoption Day. Assemblyman Karabinchack, an adoptee himself, was honored to be the keynote speaker. 2022's Adoption Day event saw the adoptions of seven children finalized.
Karabinchak, along with the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, provided an assistance seminar which residents of Middlesex County received guidance for completing their applications for the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) Program. The initiative provides property tax relief in a rebate of up to $1,500.
In April, Assemblyman Karabinchak toured the Amazon facility in Edison for a showcase of the new Rivian electric delivery vans (EDVs). New Jersey received the first wave of these electric vehicles including two delivery stations in Edison with about 100 Rivian EDVs, putting us at the forefront of electrifying our transportation sector.
